Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced, via the Official PlayStation® Blog, a new update for PlayStation®5 that includes a series of general improvements and new features in various aspects of the console and its peripherals.

This means that, starting today, PlayStation®5 users will be able to enjoy improvements to the speakers of the DualSense™ and DualSense Edge™ wireless controllers to hear game and chat sounds with greater quality and volume. In addition, this update also includes an improvement in noise cancellation in the sound input to the microphone, suppressing background noise from game audio and button presses.

Regarding screen sharing/shared screen, it was also announced that players watching a shared session will be able to use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host’s game. The news doesn’t stop there and SIE also announced that, at the end of this month, an update to the PlayStation App will allow users to enjoy these interactions in the application as well.

There is more and PlayStation®5 users will also be able to adjust the brightness of the console’s power indicator with this update.
