A comparative video published by the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits clarifies the differences between the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of Dragon’s Dogma 2, showing the image quality and game performance on the various platforms.

According to the analysis, the PC version stands out as the ideal edition, with superior graphical fidelity and performance. With a dynamic resolution of 2160p, DLSS Balanced and ray-tracing enabled, the PC version presents the highest level of detail, thanks to higher hardware specifications.

When it comes to consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X provide similar experiences, with both platforms offering dynamic 2160p resolution and using temporal reconstruction to achieve sharper images. However, the Xbox Series X is slightly ahead in terms of average frame rate, with around 40 FPS compared to the PS5’s 38 FPS. Furthermore, although both consoles support ray-tracing for global illumination, the PS5 features slightly more detailed shadows and reflections, which improves overall visual quality.

However, the Xbox Series S is targeting 1440p dynamic resolution with temporal reconstruction, which sacrifices some graphical fidelity to improve performance. Despite its lower resolution, the Series S maintains a stable frame rate of approximately 35 FPS, albeit with some occasional drops.

On all platforms, Dragon’s Dogma 2 features an unlocked frame rate, between 30-45FPS on consoles, however, the PC version is where you can play best in terms of performance, as well as having faster loading times, especially when installed on an NVMe SSD.

The comparison highlights the differences in drawing distance, with the PC and PS5 versions standing out in this aspect, while the Xbox Series X|S variants present slightly less detail in the shadows and vegetation further away.
