Youtube Music on desktop now lets you download music for offline listening

-

YouTube Music, music streaming from Google, now allows its users to do download your favorite songs on the web app so they can listen offline. This functionality was still being tested and is only now being officially implemented for more users.

There is still no native application for YouTube Music on the computer, unlike its mobile version. Due to this limitation, Google took a little longer to launch this “offline listening” mode on the computer.

Despite being recently launched, this offline mode on the desktop had been tested for some time, but not all users had access to the beta mode of this function. This YouTube Music download functionality is still being rolled out slowly to all users, so you may not have access at the beginning.

However, several users are already encountering the message “New! Download music for offline listening.” If you have already come across this message, you can download your music without any problem. This message can be seen next to the “Library” tab in your web application and the update has expanded across the US.

Just like on mobile, every song, album or podcast that is downloaded will appear in the “Downloads” section and can be classified by filters for a better experience during use.

Limitations on Use

However, there are limitations to this function. Offline downloads in the web app are limited to 10 devices connected with the same account and the user must go online every 30 days through the web application to keep their music downloaded. Otherwise, all downloads made will be deleted.
