TRAFFIC ACCIDENT: On the way to breakfast, driver’s car is hit by another vehicle in Novo Hamburgo

Two vehicles were involved in an accident this Friday morning (1st) on Avenida Vereador Adão Rodrigues de Oliveira, in Novo Hamburgo. At around 8 am, a Chevrolet Astra was traveling along the avenue towards the center of the neighborhood, when it hit another car, a Chevrolet Celta.

Witnesses stated that the Astra was traveling at high speed and was unable to brake in time to avoid the side collision, colliding with the rear wheel of the Celta, which ended up spinning on the road. The car that was hit was going down Rua Garibaldi, when it passed the Ipiranga gas station and the crash occurred. “You were working and went out to have breakfast,” said a man who witnessed the accident.

Despite the scare, only material damage was recorded. A rescue team was called and provided assistance to those involved. The collision caused traffic problems and until 8:40 am a queue was forming on Avenida Vereador Rodrigues de Oliveira, towards the center of the neighborhood.
