The body of the Military Police soldier, Jaderson Nunes Teixeira, was found by residents of the Novo Santo Antônio region (1,077 km from Cuiabá), on Saturday afternoon (2). He was in vessel that capsized in Rio das Mortes this Friday (01), during an environmental inspection.
In addition to him, there were also Second Sergeant PM Helidiony Barbosawho was found dead this Saturday morning, and the manager of the Araguaia State Park, a member of the State Secretariat for the Environment, Johann Dávilas Barros Cavalcante, who managed to save himself.

The Secretary of State for Public Security, Colonel PM César Augusto Roveri, stated that, initially, the hope was to find the soldier still alive.
“We set up a task force and believed that we could find him alive. We received this news with great regret and we are very sorry for this fatality. We wish strength to his family and all his friends for this irreparable loss”, declared the secretary.
Governor Mauro Mendes lamented the death of the two soldiers and stated that the State is providing support to the families of the two victims. The causes of the accident will be investigated.
