Gesiel Palma worked at the Londrina II State Penitentiary (PEL II), in northern Paraná. He was 34 years old, a criminal police officer and was executed inside his own car, on the morning of April 18, 2016. This Tuesday (19), the popular jury on murder will be held.
The crime occurred after Gesiel Palma’s car had problems. The police officer stopped to wait for the mechanic and, at that moment, another vehicle passed by, firing several shots.
The victim received at least four gunshots to the chest. The death would have been ordered by a criminal faction, with the aim of executing criminal police officers.
Eduardo Sena was the first of the eleven defendants to be tried, in 2021. He was sentenced to 32 years in prison. The expectation is that the others involved will also be sentenced this Tuesday (19).
