Two men die and one is injured in accident between trailer and truck in MT
Two men died charred in an accident between a trailer and a truck, on MT-430, in Confresa, 1,160 km from Cuiabá, this Wednesday (27). According to the Civil Police, the victims were identified as Alex Caetano da Silva, aged 27, and Alexandre Carvalho Schmidt, aged 43. A 28-year-old man, who was believed to be the driver of the truck, was also injured.
According to the teams, a Military Police vehicle was returning from the District of Santo Antônio do Fontoura, when it saw two burning vehicles on the highway and in one of the trucks, a person was asking for help.
The police officers entered the burning forest, when they found the injured victim next to the cabin of one of the trucks, unable to move due to the injuries and bleeding. He was moved away from the flames, as the fire was intense and spreading through the bush. Drivers of other cars stopped on the highway to help with the rescue and try to put out the fire.
According to the police, an improvised stretcher was made, as the victim had many fractures. Due to the state of urgency, the victim was taken to the hospital in a pickup truck, along with two police officers, as the vehicle was unable to transport the victim from the scene of the accident.
The Fire Department, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Official Expertise and Technical Identification (Politec-MT) were called.
According to the firefighters, when the teams and EMS were on their way to the accident site, they saw the truck with the victim who was transferred to the ambulance and taken to the hospital.
Firefighters put out the flames and waited for the investigation to be carried out.
Afterwards, the track was cleaned with the help of the owners of a farm close to the accident site, who provided a machine to remove parts from the burned trucks.
According to the Civil Police, there is still no information on how the accident occurred.
