Man dies after being run over while crossing Pouso Alegre avenue

A man died after being run over and at least four other accidents were recorded on highways in the south of Minas on the first day of the Easter long holiday. The accidents were recorded in Passos, Aguanil, Pouso Alegre and Lavras.

In Lavras, the accident happened on the Fernão Dias highway. In Passos, one person was injured in the MG-050. In Aguanil, the accident was registered at MGC-369. In Pouso Alegre, an incident was recorded near Fernão Dias. The other was the death of the cyclist, which happened on Avenida Perimetral.

A man died after being run over on Thursday afternoon (28) on Avenida Perimetral, in Pouso Alegre. According to the Fire Department, the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by a car and could not resist, dying at the scene.

Firefighters, Samu and Military Police teams were called to the incident.

According to the Fire Department, he was crossing to get the bicycle, which was on the other side of the road.

According to the Military Police, the driver of the car provided assistance to the victim. The vehicle’s documentation was in order and he underwent a breathalyzer test, which came back negative.

The victim, identified as Vanildo Pereira, was 57 years old. The burial is scheduled for Friday (29).

Due to hydroplaning at km-367 of MG-050, a vehicle overturned and a 21-year-old man was injured. He was taken to an Emergency Care Unit in Passos (MG). The accident happened on Wednesday (27).

According to the Military Highway Police, the accident occurred due to heavy rain that caused the vehicle to hydroplan and hit an embankment. The impact of the crash caused the car to flip onto the track.

According to the PRF, the vehicle was traveling from Passos towards Itaú de Minas, and in the car, in addition to the 21-year-old victim, there was also her 65-year-old father, who was the driver. The victim had minor injuries and was taken to the UPA in Passos.

The driver took a breathalyzer test which revealed no alcohol consumption, so the car was released to the driver.

A 24-year-old driver lost control of a vehicle that ended up overturning on MGC 369 at kilometer 70, this Thursday (28) near the city of Aguanil. The 24-year-old driver was uninjured.

According to the Military Highway Police, the driver was heading towards Aguanil to Campo Belo, when he came across another vehicle overtaking. The victim allegedly tried to perform a maneuver to avoid the collision, but ended up losing control of the car and overturning on the road.

According to PMR, the driver did not suffer any injuries.

A man was slightly injured after a trailer overturned in the Limeira neighborhood, in Pouso Alegre. The 45-year-old driver was on the Fernão Dias highway when he lost control of the wheel and the accident occurred.

According to the Fire Department, the truck crashed into a pole. As a result of the impact, the trailer was suspended on the road and part of the sawdust load fell onto the road.

According to firefighters, it was necessary to use a ladder to remove the driver from the truck’s cabin. The 45-year-old man complained of back pain and was taken to the Emergency Room in Pouso Alegre.
