Shrek (played by Mike Myers) is a lonely and extremely antisocial ogre who suddenly finds his life turned upside down. He is surprised by the fairytale creatures that have been dumped by Lord Farquaad (played by John Lithgow) and thrown into his swamp.
Determined to have his peace again, the ogre makes a deal with the prince of the kingdom to return the creatures to his world.
