A diver was found dead on Barra beach, this Tuesday (2), in Salvador. The victim had head injuries and was identified as Erivan João Pedroso Brandão Filho, 61 years old.

The diver’s body was removed from the water by the Fire Department and sent to the Technical Police Department (DPT) to adopt procedures.

According to the Military Police, who recorded the incident, the location was isolated until forensics arrived. Bathers who passed by the beach in the early afternoon even registered the body still in the water. Look:

The case is investigated by the 1st Homicide Police Station (DH/Atlântico). The forensic and removal guides were issued and the reports must certify the cause of the elderly man’s death.

Brazilian Navy comments on diver’s death

The Brazilian Navy, through the Bahia Port Authority (CPBA), reported that it became aware of the appearance of the diver’s body on Barra beach.

Also according to the Navy, a team of CPBA naval inspectors was sent to the scene to investigate the facts, which is taking place in conjunction with the Military and Civil Police, and the Fire Department.
