UA couple in their 30s was arrested on Thursday after their 15-year-old daughter reported being the target of sexual abuse more than a year ago in Provo, in the US state of Utah.
The abuse began when the girl’s mother and stepfather came across conversations and photographs of the teenager in “sexual situations” on the Snapchat application, and therefore decided that “performing sexual acts with the victim would be safer than [deixá-la fazê-lo] with strangers.”
The teenager reportedly told the police and paramedics deployed at the scene that her stepfather had been attacking her for a year and a half with her mother’s consent, ABC 4 reported.
After being detained, the man admitted not only having raped the girl, but also buying sex toys that he taught her to use. The teenager would also take a shower with the man, according to the released documents.
The victim’s mother also confessed to having performed sexual acts with her husband and the teenager, but rejected that the man had raped the girl. According to the woman, she had sexual relations with the man in front of her daughter.
Even so, the suspect admitted that the victim told her she was worried because, about two months before the arrest, a condom broke, which led her to confront her husband for raping the girl. At the time, the man denied the accusations, according to the documents.
The couple, who were accused of sexual abuse and sodomy, have four other children, which is why they were detained without the possibility of being released on bail, taking into account the “substantial risk” they represent.
