A‘Overnight oats’ are a good suggestion for breakfast that have to be made the night before. Still, when you prepare them, there is a common mistake you may be making.

Dietitian Andrea Mathis writes an article on the EatingWell website in which she explains the best type of oats you can use to make this recipe. The difference is between traditional and quick-cooking oat flakes.

“This variation in texture not only affects the appearance of the oats, but also influences how they cook and the final consistency of the overnight oats,” he explains.

“Traditional oats are digested slowly, resulting in a gradual increase in blood sugar levels, rather than a sudden spike,” he continues. He reveals that quick-cooking oats can become softer and lose their characteristic texture.
