HAlle Berry revealed the unusual way she discovered she had entered perimenopause.
This happened during the ‘A Day of Unreasonable Conversation’ conference, a meeting in which he spoke with the First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden.
The 57-year-old actress said she learned she was in perimenopause after the doctor missed her diagnosis and thought it was… herpes.
“First of all, my ego told me I was going to skip that phase”, he began by describing. “I’m in great shape. I’m healthy. I’ve been able to take insulin on my own and control my diabetes since I was 20. This led me to think I would handle menopause well. I was so misinformed about it at the time,” she acknowledges. .
At the time, Berry – who was 54 – met the “man of her dreams” when she started dating musician Van Hunt. Sharing details about her sex life, the artist revealed that she had intense pain during sexual intercourse, which is why she went to the doctor.
“He said, ‘You have the worst case of herpes I’ve ever seen. And I was like, ‘Herpes? I don’t have herpes.'”reports.
Berry confronted his partner about the matter and both tested negative for sexually transmitted diseases.
“I realized it was a symptom of perimenopause. My doctor had no knowledge and didn’t prepare me. That’s when I realized, ‘Oh, my God, I have to use my platform. I have to use everything I have to start marking the difference in the lives of other women'”remember.
