Arapongas Community Council gains new headquarters and articulates work plan

The mayor of Arapongas, Sérgio Onofre, attended the inauguration of the headquarters of the Community Council of the District of Arapongas on the morning of last Monday, 25th. With support from the Criminal Court and other institutions, the Council aims to provide assistance to re-educated people serving sentences in the prison system. The act was also attended by judge Dr. Renata Maria Fernandes Sassi Fantin (judge of the 2nd Criminal Court of Arapongas) as well as judge Dr. Raphaella Benetti da Cunha Rios (5th Judicial Session of Londrina) and the Government Secretary, Rafael Cita . Mayor Sérgio Onofre highlighted the importance of the participation of the judiciary in conjunction with public administration. “The municipality of Arapongas has a structured judiciary. I thank and congratulate you for all the commitment and work carried out. As a response to this good structure, Arapongas has a House of Custody that enables the resocialization of prisoners. A decades-long struggle that we have been successful in. And now, the new headquarters of the Community Council”, he said.
The president of the Community Council, Reinaldo Cavina, explained part of the services provided. “The Community Council, in turn, aims to promote society’s participation in criminal execution, provide assistance to prisoners and their families. In addition to assisting the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the execution and supervision of the penalties determined in their sentences condemnatory”, he emphasized.
Also present were the chief delegate of the 22nd Police Subdivision of Arapongas, Dr. Mauricio de Oliveira Camargo, vice-coordinator of the Arapongas House of Custody (CCA), Mário Correia, delegate of the Arapongas Women’s Police Station, Dr. Camila Costa, councilor Meiry Farias, lawyers, judiciary employees and the community.
The new headquarters of the Community Council is located at Avenida Arapongas, nº 1410 – Centro.
