13.8 kilometers of collection network will be implemented that will serve almost two thousand families in the Córrego do Arlindo Basin region

The CEO of Sanepar, Claudio Stabile, the commercial director Toco Zanetti, and the mayor of Arapongas, Sérgio Onofre, signed this Tuesday (26) a partnership agreement to expand the sewage system in the city. In this partnership, the Municipality will bid and contract the work and will be fully reimbursed by Sanepar. The planned investments are R$11 million, and the execution period is 24 months.

The work envisages the implementation of 13.8 kilometers of sewage collection network, 5.4 kilometers of collectors and discharge lines and 264 meters of pipe crossings over streams. 1,980 families will be served in the Córrego do Arlindo Basin region.

The objective of this type of contracting is to provide greater agility in the execution of works for the benefit of the population. The terms of reference for the bidding and projects will be made available by Sanepar. The work of inspection and monitoring of the work is also carried out by the Company’s technical team.

According to the mayor, this work is important for promoting health for the population and development for the city. “We have already done another project in partnership with Sanepar, and it was in record time, for six months. This work is larger and more complex and will benefit almost two thousand families in a region that does not yet have a sewage network and will also serve the expansion of the Municipality planned for that region, on Siriema Avenue,” he said.

WORKS IN PROGRESS – Other works are underway to expand the sewage system in Arapongas. By June, the implementation of around 73 kilometers of collection network should be completed, which will serve 5,257 families with sewage services, in the Araruva and Mantiqueria Basins and in Jardim Petrópolis. Serving these basins and that of Córrego do Arlindo will increase the service level with the collection network to 80% of the population. Furthermore, Sanepar is expanding the Campinho and Bandeirantes sewage treatment plants.
