The Bragança Territorial Command reported that the suspect tried to attack the GNR soldiers, insulting them and received them “in a hostile manner”

The arrest followed a complaint of domestic violence. “The Guard soldiers immediately went to the location, where they discovered that the suspect was exercising physical and verbal violence against his 47-year-old partner,” the security force explained in a statement.

The GNR also adds that the man “received the law enforcement agents in a hostile manner, insulting and trying to attack the military personnel”.

The man was arrested and present at the Bragança Judicial Court for the application of coercive measures.

The Republican National Guard reminds us that domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility, reinforcing that if you need help or are aware of a situation you can report the case on the Electronic Complaint Portal (at complainselectronicas.mai.gov.pt) , via telephone (using the number: 112), at the GNR post closest to your area of residence, on the App MAI112 application (available and intended exclusively for deaf citizens, at http://www.112.pt/Paginas/Home .aspx) or in the SMS Security application (aimed at deaf people at www.gnr.pt/MVC_GNR/Home/SmsSeguranca).

At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it is not free, journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way of directly supporting A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our counterpart is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It means continuing to inform despite all the contingencies of confinement, without having stopped for a single day.
