Gap Year Summit takes place this weekend in various locations around the village. Program includes lectures, workshops, traveler testimonies and ideas for gap years

The municipality of Carregal do Sal will once again host the Gap Year Summit this weekend (5th to 7th April), considered the largest gathering of travelers in the country. The event is in its 11th edition and will have the motto “Don’t stay afloat”.

The reception for participants takes place this Friday and the program starts on Saturday, at 10 am, with lectures, workshops, testimonies from travelers and ideas for gap years taking place in various locations in the village.

The Gap Year Summit will have four stages (Palco Mundo, Palco Rumo, Palco Snooze and Palco (Re)Ação). Among the speakers are several ‘influencers’ linked to travel and experiences such as Filipe Morato Gomes, Matilde Manuel, Catarina Ferreira, David Freitas, Diogo Tavares and Diana Nicolau.

Guests Catarina Leonardo, Tânia Muxima, Leonor Jacob, Afonso Sereno, Amaru Mestas, Maria João Alves, Ema Mateus, Ricardo Gomes, Rita Repolho and Chapa Dux (Diogo Bernardes) also participate in the Gap Year lectures and workshops.

In addition, representatives from the Wind Family, For the Plotcast, World Sketching Tour and Cuéntame Km projects will also speak.

Check-in can be done on Friday at Mercado D’Ideias de Carregal do Sal, from 8:30 pm to 11 pm, or on Saturday from 9 am at the Cultural Center.

The Gap Year Summit mobilizes young people from various places, challenging them to learn new things through stories and experiences that give them the desire to travel and take a break from their routine.
