In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer Love Hewitt (‘Ghost Whisperer’) spoke again about her possible return as survivor Julie James in the new film in the franchise ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer‘.

“I can neither confirm nor deny. What about this? [No novo filme, Julie James] hypothetically it must be much older, but it is still strong.”

She completes, “The truth is, I don’t know what they are planning for the new film. I think there will be a lot of shouting and chasing, but I hope my character has a bigger shirt than the one I wore in the first film.”

Previously, the screenwriter Leah McKendrick (‘MFA’) had revealed new details about the plot of the upcoming film: “I don’t want to give too much away, but if you love the original film, you’ll be happy [com a nova sequência]. I feel like this new movie really delves into the concept of hero and villain, right and wrong, about how the skeletons in your closet can come back to haunt you. In the internet era where fame is such a sought-after concept, with the creation of Tiktok and other social networks, who is Julie James in this world where there are no more secrets?”

Written by Kevin Williamson (‘Scream’ franchise) and directed by Jim Gillespiethe 1997 film follows four teenagers – played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe It is Freddie Prinze Jr., hitherto unknown actors – and a murder that changes everyone’s lives.

They ran over and allegedly killed an unknown man. Afraid of the consequences, the quartet decides to get rid of the body and throw it into the sea. A year later, they meet again in the same city and one of the young women receives a note saying: “I know what you did last summer”. From this moment on, one by one they begin to pay dearly for what they did.

I Know What You Did Last Summer‘ grossed US$ 125 million worldwide and had a sequel in 1998, ‘I Still Know What You Did Last Summer‘. A third film,’I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer‘, was released directly to home video in 2006.
