In 2024, the Slipknot will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album and other surprises could also be part of the celebration of the band that is going through some changes – including the possible entry of Eloy Casagrande as a drummer.

After Jay Weinberg was fired from the group last year, fans of the group led by Corey Taylor They continue to wait to find out who will take on the instrument and what the band’s next steps will be.

Last weekend, Brazilian fans’ suspicions increased that Eloy, who announced his departure from Grave recently, he must be Slipknot’s new drummer.

This is because the band published a simple photo of a broken drumstick, which helped fans point out the similarity of the drumstick model to the one used by Eloy – find out more details here.

Shawn Crahan talks about Slipknot’s moment

Although the band has not yet confirmed any information about Jay’s replacement, the musician Shawn Crahanbetter known as Slipknot’s Clown, pointed out in a new interview with Knotfest Australia (via Metal Injection) his expectations for working with the new drummer:

I’m really excited about the idea of a new drummer. There are many reasons for this. I don’t want you to get confused… it doesn’t matter what the situation may seem like, unless you’re in the band and you understand that there are no hard feelings, there never have been. We just went our way, understand? There weren’t really any bad things, that’s all I can say.

Crahan revealed that the band has been working on new releases in addition to new masks, as Taylor recently shared, and that shows for smaller audiences are also among the band’s plans:

What I can say is that Slipknot decided to move on and that’s what we did. I’m really excited about what we’ve done. We’re really working hard and you know, there will be new songs, there will be new masks, there will be new people, there will be new ideas celebrating the 25th anniversary. I imagine there will be some shows that might have 200 people, 500 people, 700 people, 2,000 people.

Later in the interview, Clown explained to fans what they can expect in terms of new releases, hinting that we might be getting the first recordings from Eloy Casagrande (or whoever the new drummer is) soon:

I wouldn’t look at it as new songs in the sense of an album and stuff like that. I think we’re going to have fun. I don’t know exactly what we’re trying to do. I know we just want to do what we want, so whatever happens, happens. We’re not going to force it and we’re not going to make this something that it doesn’t need to be, but I will tell you that we’re having a lot of fun right now. Some really magical things are happening.

We look forward to it here!
