KK Downing doesn’t know why Judas albums with Tim “Ripper” aren’t on platforms

English musician KK Downing, guitarist for the band KK’s Priest (and former member of Judas Priest), gave an interview to Rob Rush, from the American radio station 94.3 The Shark. During the chat, Rob asked why the two Judas Priest albums recorded by vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens are off digital platforms and record stores.

“Yes, [é] a bit mysterious, actually. Obviously, I no longer have control over these records, but I don’t think it’s a record company thing, because record companies always like to sell records, don’t they?” said Downing, according to a transcript published by the website Blabbermouth.

“Obviously, Ripper and I are still very proud of everything we’ve done as part of our history and legacy, and we’d love to see records in stores once again. So we hope that comes to fruition.

But the good news is that KK’s Priest will be playing these songs all year round, so everyone is welcome to come and experience these magical times that we now call the ‘Ripper era’ or ‘Ripper years’. And, yes, for everyone to enjoy these songs again in a live format, which in many ways is even better. But let’s hope the records appear at some point,” Downing added.

Tim “Ripper” Owens was the lead singer of Judas Priest from 1996 to 2003 and recorded the albums “Jugulator” (1997) and “Demolition” (2001). He is currently Downing’s bandmate in the band KK’s Priest, which released its second studio album in September 2023.
