Google has expanded the company’s search engine tools that help users check whether content is true or not. The news was presented this Tuesday (02), which is the International Fact Checking Day.
One of the new functions is Google image search. From now on, You can quickly check the history and context of searched photosto find out if they are already old or have a specific context attached.
This information is in the item “About this image”, which opens a new page in the browser when selected. The resource is an icon with three vertical dots, accessed when you click on an image in a search result, as shown in the figure below.

On the new page, you can find out if the image or versions of it are old or have been previously published on other sitesas is its description in these domains and also some metadata, which help to identify truthful content.

Another new feature is the option “About this page”, which appears on every website displayed in Google searches. The operation is similar to searching for images, with the difference that the entire address is evaluated.
To access this information, which opens on the screen (on a cell phone) or in the right corner of the page (on a PC browser), simply tap the three vertical dots icon.

Available features include the site description on Wikipediaif the entry exists, in addition to knowing “what other people on the web say about him”. This way, you know whether the website in question is trustworthy or is often involved in accusations of misinformation or fraud, for example.
