Yasmin Vaz dos Santos, the boy’s mother, and Bruna Nathiele Porto da Rosa, her companion at the time of the events, are responsible for the crimes of torture, qualified homicide (a nasty, somewhat cruel motive and a resource that made the victim’s defense difficult) and concealment of a corpse .
The decision, by Judge Gilberto Pinto Fontoura, of the 1st Criminal Court of the District of Tramandaí, meets the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the identity of the jurors and the secrecy of the votes must be respected.
Case
According to the Public Ministry’s complaint, Miguel was killed in the early hours of July 29, 2021 by the couple, after being tortured, and his body placed inside a suitcase. The reason would be that the boy was disturbing their relationship. The body, which was not found, was reportedly thrown into the Tramandaí River.
During interrogation during the criminal case hearing, Bruna attributed responsibility for the boy’s death to her mother. Yasmin chose to remain silent.
