Morro Santo da Massaranduba is ready to host the biggest outdoor spectacle in the Agreste this Friday (29th) and Saturday (30th). Having finalized the final details, the cast meets tonight for a general rehearsal with the presence of actor Maurício Mattar.

With accessibility in mind, Arapiraca City Hall made sign language interpreters available for the show, in addition to various actions through the Secretariats to ensure that Passion is a moment of emotion and faith for the public.

The Department of Culture has been monitoring the work, providing the necessary support for production. Morro da Massaranduba was taken care of by the Public Services Department with general cleaning, debris removal, weeding and mowing, in addition to renewed lighting at the site. The Department of Economic Development carried out the registration and provided guidance to street vendors who will be able to sell food and drinks, except alcoholic ones. A health team will be available to meet any demand, with an ambulance and technical team. The Public Order Secretariat and SMTT will be present ensuring safety at the site and traffic flow on the day.

In the year of Arapiraca’s Centenary, the show features local artists, such as Josy Amorim playing Maria; Paullo Caetano, as Jesus; and actress Márcia Mariah, as Madalena. Judas will be played by Nivaldo Azarias and Aemerson Barros will play Herod. In addition to actor Maurício Mattar who will play Pôncio Pilate. The production also has dozens of people involved behind the scenes to ensure that the public is moved by the Passion.

This year’s show is carried out by the Association of Artists of Massaranduba (AMA), Arapiraca City Hall, Department of Culture, Leisure and Youth, in partnership with NA Produções Artísticas, and has the participation of volunteers and supporters. Since 2011, it has been considered Intangible Heritage of the State of Alagoas, recognizing its relevance in outdoor staging.
