Atibaia City Hall creates specialized care for dengue patients

After declaring a public health emergency in view of the growth in the number of dengue cases, the City of Atibaia puts into operation from this Wednesday, March 27th, the Dengue Care Center (CAD), with 24-hour service per day on the premises of the Emergency Care Unit (UPA), located at Rua Iracema, nº 113, Jardim Cerejeiras. This is one of the actions foreseen in the decree to contain the disease in the city.

goal

The objective of the space is to guarantee a place with agile care for people suspected of having the disease and also for those with a confirmed diagnosis, ensuring that treatment is carried out at the onset of symptoms, thus working to reduce the possibility of complications. Dengue fever can lead to patient death, and delays in starting treatment contribute to the progression of the disease to a more serious stage.

Anyone with dengue symptoms can also look for the health unit closest to their residence during its normal opening hours, however at the UPA there is a specific flow for dengue and dedicated health professionals to treat the disease.

Eliminate breeding sites
The best way to prevent diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti is to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, that is, places with accumulated water that allow them to reproduce, such as bottles, small plates in plant pots, tires, uncovered trash cans, used containers to put water for animals, swimming pools and dirty gutters, among others.

Reports of possible dengue outbreaks can be registered with the Health Ombudsman: (11) 4414-3344 (WhatsApp).

Symptoms
Seek care if you have the following symptoms: high fever; headache; body and joint pain; in addition to prostration, weakness, pain behind the eyes and red spots on the skin. The severe form of the disease includes intense and continuous abdominal pain, nausea, persistent vomiting and mucous membrane bleeding. If the condition worsens, the patient should return to the doctor. Furthermore, it is important to increase hydration and avoid medications such as Aspirin, AAS and Ibuprofen.
