The Municipal Health Department, through Endemic Disease Control, released this Wednesday, 03, the new dengue epidemiological bulletin – with data from 03/24 to 03/30. According to the numbers, Arapongas has 2,876 notifications, 1,457 confirmed cases of the disease (1,382 autochthonous cases and 75 imported), 17 under investigation, 1,402 negative cases and one death. The coordinator of Endemic Disease Control, Valdecir Pardini, states the increase in positive cases, and with this, the increase in effectiveness in actions to combat mosquitoes. “We have intensified task forces throughout the city. Strategic actions consist of joint cleaning efforts at abandonment points, valley bottoms, land, in addition to monitoring at strategic points, home visits and health education activities”, he guarantees. Also according to Pardini, the joint work developed through the integration of the Department of Health, Department of Works and Department of the Environment has already resulted in the removal of more than 300 garbage paths from various critical points – from March until now. “A collective task force from municipal management, but the involvement of the entire population is important. Everyone doing their part”, he reinforces. The lack of application of the so-called “Fumacê” has generated questions from the population. Pardini also explains the reason for restricting the use of the insecticide. “According to the 16th Health Region, to which Arapongas belongs, the general lack of insecticide has been reported to us. This harms our blocking actions. However, while we do not have this additional prevention method, we need to have the essential attitudes to contain dengue, with simple but effective attitudes. Don’t leave it idle, don’t leave trash accumulated, check the backyards and interiors of homes”, reinforces Pardini.

Important Tips:
– Keep the water tank closed and clean
– Do not leave water accumulated on the slabs
– Keep tires in covered areas until correct disposal
– Keep the yard clean and trash bins covered
– Wash pet water poles at least twice a week
– Always leave the toilet lid closed.
