Director believes he is on good terms with Marvel Studios
In an interview with ComicBook.com during the WonderCon, Sam Raimiknown for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessThe It is The Demon’s Deathcommented on the rumors involving a new film from Spider man starring Tobey Maguire. According to the director, he “not working on it yet”however, does not rule out the possibility that production could be in the studio’s plans.
“Well, I haven’t heard about it yet, I’ve read it, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia [são] so successful with the current Spider-Man and the franchise… I don’t know if they’re going to come back to me and say, ‘We could tell that story too!’ I am not sure. But I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was very, very powerful to see Tobey in the film.”

“I haven’t spoken to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures. But I just worked with Marvel on a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Therefore, I have good relations with them. I’m sure I’d hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know”said the director about Maguire’s possible casting in a new film.
