After more than a decade, Coldplay can return to Portugal. The rumor was released on Wednesday, August 17, the day the band released the song “Humankind” on YouTube, whose music video has images of the city of Coimbra. The doubt was raised on Twitter about the band’s passage in Portugal and in the meantime practically confirmed.

On the table are already two dates proposed by the promoter Everything is New to the band led by vocalist Chris Martin, both for the city of Coimbra, which appears in the new video clip, SIC Notícias has learned. Despite the Coimbra City Council saying “it has nothing to say on this matter”, it did not deny or confirm the British band’s return to Portugal, which may be an indication that it will really happen.

May 17 and 19, 2023 are the dates that you should already point out on the calendar to watch Coldplay return to Portugal, this time at Estádio Cidade de Coimbra. The band’s last visit to the country was in 2012, at Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, that is, 2023 marks 11 years since Portuguese Coldplay fans have been waiting to see the band’s energy on stage again, portrayed in the new music video.

Coimbra (Portugal), Barcelona (Spain), Cardiff (Wales), Milan (Italy), Naples (Italy) and Zurich (Switzerland) are some of the cities that appear in “Humankind”, a theme that is part of the 15th edition the band’s album, “Music Of The Spheres”, and which led the band to be trending on Twitter for speculating that the images indicated the cities where they can pass in 2023.

The song also shows footage of four sold-out concerts at Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City, on the occasion of the “Music Of The Spheres” world tour, according to the band’s website.
