Gabriel Barbosa was this Monday suspended for two yearsbut that doesn’t mean it’s still part of Flamengo’s entry list for the first phase of the new edition of the Copa Libertadores.

The former Benfica player, better known in the world of football as Gabigol, was penalized for committing fraud in an anti-doping control, but the club and the player believe that the suspension could still be ineffective. The player’s lawyer has already appealed the decision.

Flamengo’s campaign in the Libertadores begins next Tuesday, at 11pm, during their visit to Millionarios in Colombia. Before that, Tite’s team will still go to Nova Iguaçu’s ground for a Carioca duel.
