The Algarve School of Innovation and Creation Technologies (ETIC) organized another edition of LÁBIA Week. The event brought together more than 120 students from different courses to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with six institutions in the Algarve.

For ETIC, this week “is always a moment of special significance, with an impact on our trainees, since members of the 2-year technical course classes are integrated into interdisciplinary working groups, promoting the interconnection of skills, creative areas and also the development of social skills, putting your know-how at the service of society”.

It was under the guidance of five experienced tutors that graduates from the 10 classes of the Directing, Cinema and TV, Communication and Multimedia Design, Video Games, Creation, Production and Sound Techniques and Professional Photography courses joined forces to create a variety of projects and digital products, ranging from the creation of logos and visual identity, through photographs, motion design, advertising and institutional videos, advertising campaigns, virtual visits, interactive games and much more. Alongside these projects, computers were also donated to some of the institutions with the development of a training component for the beneficiaries of these institutions to be planned in the near future.

“This week was a unique opportunity for our trainees to apply their knowledge and creativity, in a real context of teamwork, which brought together trainees from different courses, from the first and second years, promoting at the same time their technical, professional and social”, said Nuno Ribeiro, Director of ETIC_Algarve, reinforcing that the school “is extremely proud of the professionalism, specialization and creativity demonstrated by the graduates during this Week”.

The six beneficiary organizations of LÁBIA Week included the Cineclube de Faro, the Horta da Areia Community Center, the Elaine Baine Family Trust, the Forest Jump Association, the Protection of Girls and Family Association and the São Brás de Alportel Costume Museum. They say that the results were “impressive and leave us with few words to describe the commitment and professionalism”.

“With the end of LÁBIA Week, ETIC will continue to work in close collaboration with institutions in order to ensure continued involvement and the successful implementation of projects developed by trainees”, it informs in a statement.
