ETIC_Algarve presents unique reflections on the April Revolution

ETIC_Algarve, a creative and technological school in Faro, is proud to publish the latest project by graduates from the Directing, Cinema and TV classes that explores the emotional impact of the Portuguese Revolution on people’s lives.

Entitled “The Echoes of April”this mini-documentary presents the stories of two individuals “whose lives were uniquely shaped by the events of April 25, revealing how their paths intertwine on a journey of reflection and reconciliation”in the words of graduates Bárbara Afonso, Leandro Silva (final year graduates) and Beatriz Silvestre, Jordana Gasparinho, and Tiago Brito (1st year graduates of the Directing, Cinema and TV course).

Through a moving narrative and contrasting perspectives, the documentary highlights the lasting importance of the Portuguese Revolution and the power of love to transcend differences.

“This project is not just a historical documentary; is a poignant reminder of the lasting significance of April 25th.”said Nuno Ribeiro, Director of ETIC_Algarve. “Through the creativity and talent of our graduates, we challenge you to explore how these events continue to resonate in our lives.”

The documentary “Os Ecos de Abril” was produced as part of the 48h Documentary Challenge, a collaborative project between ETIC_Algarve and Prague City University, with coordination and mentoring by Maia Horniak, Program Leader at PCU, and José Jesus, tutor in the area of Video by ETIC_Algarve. This challenge is intended to encourage trainees to develop their technical and creative film production skills in a short period of time, promoting teamwork, creativity and the ability to adapt to the unexpected and unpredictable.

“We are impressed by the commitment and dedication of the graduates to deliver such significant work”said Maia Horniak, Program Leader of the 3-year Bachelor of Arts courses at Prague City University. “With 5 documentaries produced in these intense 48 hours, the talent and potential of ETIC_Algarve’s future filmmakers is demonstrated.”

In its training offer, ETIC_Algarve offers courses in various creative areas, namely Directing, Cinema and TV, with a focus on developing practical skills and preparing graduates for the job market.

With the involvement of its trainees in this type of projects, ETIC_Algarve seeks to promote creativity, innovation and collaboration among its trainees, preparing them to become successful professionals in the film industry.
