The last official photographs of Queen Elizabeth II were taken on Tuesday, September 6, precisely at the moment when the monarch received the new British Prime Minister, Liz Truss, as part of her inauguration.
Jane Barlow, from the Press Association, was the photographer present at the place and responsible for the last photographic record of the queen.
In addition to the photographs with Liz Truss, Jane also had the opportunity to capture the queen alone – in the moments when she awaited the arrival of the prime minister.
Speaking to Sky News, the photographer recalls that the queen appeared to be “fragile” but “in a good mood”.

The conversation with the monarch was related to the weather outside, rain and thunderstorms, nothing that took away the friendly smile of Isabel II. “I got a lot of smiles from her,” she recalls.
“I was there to photograph her meeting the new prime minister, but for me the best photo was of the queen alone. And that, obviously, has become more meaningful now”, notes Jane Barlow, considering it “an honor”. and “a real privilege” to have been the last professional to photograph the queen alive.
